Father's Day Weekend in Vegas

Last weekend we drove to Uncle Jeff's house to celebrate Father's Day with Steve's dad and mom. The girls had no idea we were going because it was a very last minute decision to make the trip. After 4+ long hours of "Are we there yet?", they were ecstatic when we arrived at Uncle Jeff's. The chaos began immediately... toys all over the floor, highchair for Charlie, DVDs for Ryan, bags and bags of stuff everywhere (ha, Jeff must have been thrilled that the tornado rolled into town). The kids nuzzled up to him automatically and I'm sure he never gave a second thought to the mess we had created.

Charlie LOVED the pool (Ryan didn't even want to touch the water which was good probably with the ear infection). Here is little Chuckles hangin' out with her uncle.

Ryan helped Jeff open his birthday presents. She is quite the master at opening presents.

Jeff's huge walk-in closet became the favorite place for the weekend. It became a fort, a kitty house, a hiding spot, a secret house, and probably more.

Charlie looks pretty hip in her oversized sunglasses. She loved the raft. It was so cute.

Yet another favorite pastime for the weekend... picking on Jeff! Lots of pillow fights, and peek-a-boo, and "tickle-tickles" to keep Jeff plenty busy with his nieces.
~~
Thanks again for having us Jeff. We had a great time and girls loved playing with you so much. You kept them so occupied. And thanks Liz and Steve for helping so much with the kids too over the weekend. We loved that we could spend a little time at the casino and not have to worry about the little ones.

Kidspace

I'm behind in the blogging yet again! Lately, it seems like it takes forever to get up a new post. Oh well, sorry. Anyway, a couple of weekends ago we drove out to Pasadena, picked up Gigi, and took the girls to Kidspace. They had a great time.

Ryan watching a puppet show by herself with the "big kids"

Crazy Charlie watching the same puppet show under the watchful eye of daddy. She wanted to dance and sing during the show instead of watch. I don't think she quite gets it yet but it sure was fun watching Steve trying to contain her.

Charlie's favorite part was the water features for sure. She got soaked and we needed to buy a T-shirt from the gift shop so that she'd be dry for the drive home. I'll remember that next time.

This picture is obviously fairly early in the water discovery because she looks completely dry!

Safety First

I don't know if you can notice but Charlie even insisted on wearing the elbow pads along with the helmet. For someone who doesn't even know how to ride a tricycle yet, she sure is a rule follower. Good job Charlie!!

First Pig Tails

We all know that Charlie is a little "hair challenged" but Aubrey managed to give her pig tails with plenty of tugging and hairspray. Charlie likes to be just like Ryan and lately she tries to copy her by getting into our hair accessories drawer, picking something out, and saying "do too, do too." I think she looks like Shrek if you ask me but the cutest darn Shrek ever.

Memorial Day Picnic

On Memorial Day, we took the girls to the park for their very first picnic. Ryan helped mommy pick all of our picnic foods and load up our very fancy picnic basket (a present from Gigi and Papa)! We ate and played and good ol' time. It reminded me of a time when I had to take my family on a picnic as an assignment for my Brownie Troop. I guess that's just around the corner too!

Our Little Dancer

Silly me forgot to take my memory stick out of my computer and put it back into my camera before Ryan's first ever dance recital! Duhhhhhhh!! Steve thankfully brought the video camera and filmed the whole thing. Ryan was fantastic. And also thankfully my mom took plenty of digital pictures. So when I get a copy of the CD from my mom and develop my lousy throw away camera pictures, I PROMISE to post more pictures from this wonderful event!!
They sang a song called, "Me and My Teddy Bear" and did all their moves holding this purple teddy bear. It really was the cutest thing ever.

And then Ryan helped to make the desert afterwards. What a good helper.
