Random Summer Fun 2013

Summer brought so many fun times!  So many in fact that I haven't updated the blog in months!  Here are some "random" summer highlights...

EARS PIERCED FOR THE GRACE GIRLS!
A break from soccer for 6 weeks in early summer meant they FINALLY got to get their ears pierced!

CARSON'S  BAPTISM

We don't get to hang out with the Smith Family very often so we treasure these special days!  Congrats Carsie!

JUNIOR GUARDS
For 3 hours a day, 5 days a week, for 7 weeks... the beach was Ryan's home!  Charlie and Mommy tried to hang out some times too!

BAY DAYS
This picture is out of order but the girls love to go to the bay.  This was from the last day of school.

4th OF JULY AT THE RANCH
The day before heading to Hawaii was the 4th of July.  We spent the evening with some friends at Old Ranch for their annual celebration.

THE OC FAIR
The girls and I met Michelle and Erin and the kids at the fair for the day.  Except for my car not starting when it was time to leave, the day was perfect.

More summer fun posts to come!  I love having a job where I can spend lots of time with my girlies during the summer!  They are so much fun to hang out with.

A True Country Wedding

Back in June, the girls were in another wedding!  These girls are becoming experts!  This time they were not flower girls but were "lemonade attendants" instead!  They were the cutest lemonade cuties ever!  The wedding was for their soccer trainer, Hayley, and was a true county affair!  Cowboy boots and attire encouraged!  Check out these pics from the most adorable wedding ever... everything was handmade by the bride and groom's family in order to take this "blank slate country venue" to "vintage country elegance."

a rare family pic

Another soccer family attended as well... our girls totally look up to these older players!  I love the role models that they are getting playing soccer!

These were the table assignments hung between two tree on twine!  So creative and cute.

Look at the handmade altar!!  Ripped ribbons blowing in the wind made the whole look whimsical and beautiful!

Lots of wonderful photo opportunities for my darling cowgirls!

(This is their boyfriend... also named Ryan!)

Hayley sure cleans up nice!  We are used to seeing her in soccer gear!  The girls were so proud to be part of her big day.  She totally made them feel welcomed during every part of the event.

Charlie showing the flowergirls a few of her signature moves!

The fathers and daughters got some special time on the dance floor!

Having a moment ;-)

So are the bride and groom...

More soccer friends... these older girls were Hayley's Jr. Bridesmaids

Ryan got a dance with the groom...

And so did Char Bear...

What a great night with one of the greatest couples ever!  So glad we got to help them celebrate their big day!

Opa!! Lori Turns 40 by Going GREEK!

Turning 40 was quite an experience!  In May, Steve and I through a big Greek fraternity style toga party to celebrate with the big 4-0 with my friends!  I feel blessed to have so many great friends that truly went ALL OUT with the theme!  Everyone came in great outfits and were truly ready to party "fraternity style!"  We had a fraternity name and everything... Lambda Kappa Gamma (my initials in Greek letters!)

The party favors were panties... heehee... so naughty!

We turned the china cabinet into a faux fraternity house cabinet.  I put in pictures from the good ol' days in my sorority from college and even made a fraternity paddle for the event.

We decorated the backyard with Greek columns, twinkle lights, and the most beautiful flower arrangements in Greek urns!  I loved everything!!

I even got my hair and make-up done for the big night!

The Greek food arrived with the caterers and the servers and bartenders too!

The DJ got the tunes all ready to roll to bring us back to the Good Ol' College days... lots of Snoop, Run DMC, and Notorious BIG

Greek letters on the front of the house to set the stage as the guests arrived!

See how people used it as the backdrop for their personal pics!!  Just what I had hoped for!

Finally, the guests arrive!
(The pictures below are not sequential... that was too hard to manipulate them all)

This part of the night was awesome!  Steve gave the most heartfelt speech and said some really wonderful things about me, and our family, and our life.  Thank you Steve!!

And then.... he jumped in the pool!!!  So awesome!!

Because then... a lot of other people jumped in the pool too!

And I watched on in complete shock!

And then the birthday cake!!

Happy Birthday to me!  The best night ever!!
